The value of the license issuing by the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council (NTRBC) is considerably lower than in other countries. The figure comprises 550,000 manats, Mehdi Mammadaov, the head’s assistant of the NTRBC, told Trend.

According to Mammadov, no country issues license at such low price. Namely, in Russia the company has to transfer $1m to participate in the competition on federal broadcasting, in Georgia company has to pay around $35,000 to install decimetric transmitter, in Turkey and the United States the expenses comprise billions of dollars.

“The proposals of the NTRBC on changing license prices are expected to be considered soon in this regard,” the Council representative noted.

The National Council stressed that there was not necessity in single tariff. It must change depend on territory and kind of broadcasting. “It is naturally, that channels interested in regional broadcasting are lees profitable. Therefore, reconsideration of the issue is very important,” the NTRBC underlined.
