INT’L WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL COMMUNICATIONS OVER IN NAKHCHIVAN

An international workshop on development of rural communications titled �Rural Communications: problems of development and exploitation’ came to an end in Nakhchivan, the center of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan on Friday.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, told Trend that the seminar focused on current state and development of the communications system of the NAR, principles of projecting the rural communications.

The Communications Ministry also said that attending the seminar were the Minister for Communications and Information Technologies of the NAR, Rovshan Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Minister for Communications and Information Technologies, Ali Abbasov, the Education Minister, Misir Mardanov.

Organized jointly by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in accordance with an action plan of the organization on the increase of qualification in European and CIS countries the workshop brought together delegates from Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey. Dmitriy Protenko, a program coordinator of the organization, represented ITU in the gathering.

The event targets exploring the ways of development of communications and information-communications technologies in the rural areasо and improvement of the quality of services,” the official of the Communications Ministry said.
