“The date of the trade day of the Azerbaijani communications employees will be determined in 2006,” Ali Abbasov, the Communications and Information Technologies Minister, told Trend .
According Abbasov, the government has not determine the exact date of communications and there is some uncertainty in this regard.
“We work on the issue and the exact date is expected to be determined in 2006. However, despite it we mark our trade day on day of the World Postal Union,” the Minister noted.
Abbasov explained that the reason for uncertainty related with the date of the establishment of the Post and Telegraph Minister by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918. The Central Archive Department works in this regard.
9 October 1874 is official date of the World Postal Union and marked by the world postal community as the World Postal Day.
