Ali Abbasov, the Communications and Information Minister, met with Arthur Lenk, the Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The Ambassador was overhaul informed about the reforms held over the last years in communications and information technologies. The Minister called his visit to Israil in November 2004 at the invitation of Ekhut Olmert, the First Deputy Primer, successful.
In his turn, the Israeli Ambassador noted that the interest of the Israeli business circles to the Azerbaijani communications considerably increased. Instantly, such authoritative companies as Tadiaran and Elisa Group began to study the issue of investment in the sphere.
The sides also touched upon the issues on preparation for the World Summit on Information Society to be held in Tunis from 16 to 18 November. It was mentioned that they plan to stage events on the projects on electronic government, distant education and Smart for the GUAM countries within the summit.
It should be mentioned that Ali Abbasov and Daliei Itzik, the Israeli Communications Minister, also plan to meet within the summit.
