“The liberalization of IT market in Azerbaijan is possible only in presense of regulating body,” Nuri Ahmadov, the head of Azeurotel JV, told Trend.
According to Ahmadov, the division established under the Communications and Information Technologies Ministry pursues this policy. “But if the state body pursues this policy, there will not be any independence and objectiveness,” he underlined. Besides, Ahmadov, stressed the services of the Ministry in development of the IT market.
Touching upon issuing of licenses, Ahmadov noted that the issue was in the high level in the country.
In his turn, Iltimas Mammadov, the head of the regulating division, said that the main goal of the regulating body established in February 2005 was to liberate communications market, render assistance to different private companies, as well as take measures on prevention of monopoly.
