EU: Energy negotiations in Ashgabat constructive

The negotiations of high energy representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger, which were held in Ashgabat on Monday were constructive, Marlene Holzner, a spokesperson for EU Energy Commissioner, said.

One of the major issues of the negotiations was the implementation of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline project.

She said that important things in yesterday's negotiations for the Commission were that Turkmenistan said they continue to be interested to deliver gas to Europe. At the same time, Azerbaijan confirmed that they continue to be interested in the delivery as a transit country, the spokesperson added.

U.S company sell his part in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil project and BTC pipeline

U.S. corporation Hess announced on Saturday, that agreed to sell its part (2.72 %) in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil project (ACG) in Azerbaijanian sector of Casipan Sea and its 2.36 percent interest in the associated BTC pipeline to the indian ONGC corporation.
The transaction will cost for $1 billion and expected to close in the first quarter of 2013, the website of corporation said.

Azerbaijan prepares new contract to develop gas reserves

A preliminary version of a new contract for the project to develop the deep lying gas on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea will be ready within one month, senior representative of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said.
At present, ACG oil reserves are being developed based on the PSA contract, but the source noted that the contract will have a new form.

SOCAR, BP plan comprehensive study of Absheron shallow shelf

SOCAR is considering British BP's proposal to hold a comprehensive study of a shallow part of the Absheron Peninsula coastal zone, SOCAR first vice president on geophysics, geology and mining Khoshbakht Yusifzade said at the opening of the scientific and practical conference 'New technologies in oil and gas extraction' in Baku. He added that the proposal aims at discovering additional oil resources.

Azerbaijan intends to retain 51-percent stake in TANAP

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to retain 51 percent of its share in the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said.
He said Turkey will own 20 percent of the equity. The remaining 29 percent will be distributed among the new shareholders.

Such companies as Total, BP and Statoil have already appealed to receive shares in the project, Abdullayev said.

Georgia, Romania continue cooperation in AGRI gas pipeline construction

Georgia and Romania will continue to cooperate in the construction of AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector) gas pipeline to transport liquefied natural gas from the Caspian Sea area to Europe, Georgian GHN news agency reported.

This agreement was reached during a meeting in Bucharest of Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze.

EU new sanctions on Iran to target all energy sphere - EU advisor

New European unilateral sanctions over Iran will target Iran's oil, gas, commercial and financial activities, the European Union economic advisor Mehrdad Emadi said.

Emadi said that new round of sanctions includes Iranian gas sector additional to its oil sector, which has been hit before by EU sanctions, namely pressures on more Iran's energy sector has been planned.

Emadi added that new upcoming round of sanctions over Iran will include tighter measures and supervision over shell companies made in Malaysia and Thailand by Iran to skirt the sanctions, also the companies in Turkey, Cyprus and Greece that help Iran to keep trade and make money transictions with European companies.

Leadership of KazMunaiGas appeales for help in creating high-tech joint venture

The leadership of KazMunaiGas appealed to Lord Waverley - head of the British-Kazakh inter-parliamentary group in the British Parliament - for help in creating of joint ventures, chairman of the Board of JSC NC KazMunaiGas Lazzat Kiinov said.

He noted that KazMunaiGas plans to work together to establish new industries and jobs, including by attracting foreign direct investment in the production of oil and gas equipment and development of service projects.

"In addition, the tender procedures will be reviewed in the frame of major oil and gas projects with a view to make the necessary changes to create favorable conditions for producers and service companies to encourage the organization of production and technology transfer to Kazakhstan," he said.

Kiinov also said the talks will also be held with the operators of major oil and gas projects in the deployment of guaranteed orders from newly formed companies in Kazakhstan.

Fitch Affirms KazTransGas at 'BB+'

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Kazakhstan-based KazTransGas's (KTG) Long-term foreign and local currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) at 'BB+' and Short-term IDR at 'B'.
The Outlooks on the Long-term IDRs are Stable.

The agency has simultaneously affirmed JSC Intergas Central Asia's (ICA) Long-term foreign and local currency IDRs at 'BB+', senior unsecured rating at 'BB+' and Short-term IDR at 'B'.
The Outlooks on the Long-term IDRs are Stable.

President: Turkmenistan wants early energy exports to Europe

Turkmenistan is interested in expediting energy exports to Europe, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said at a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yildiz.

The parties discussed the prospects of increasing traditional cooperation in a number of priority areas particularly the energy sector where the partnership between the two neighbouring countries meets the interests of energy security.

The TANAP project is interested in Turkmen gas, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet said referring to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz. This issue was discussed during the meeting.

Lukoil extracts 15 bln cubic meters of natural gas in Uzbekistan

The accumulated natural gas production volume of Lukoil in Uzbekistan was 15 billion cubic meters, the company said.
According to the report, most part (around 95 percent) has been produced at the Khauzak-Shady field in Bukhara region (part of the "Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad" project implemented togethern with the National Holding Company "Uzbekneftegaz").

Lukoil is working in Uzbekistan to implement three projects as part of the international consortium.
