On Oct. 31, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received World Bank Managing Director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The President praised the Azerbaijan-WB cooperation, describing it as "successful".
The Head of State recalled his recent meeting with a WB delegation, during which, he said "we discussed prospects for the bilateral cooperation".
President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope the Azerbaijan-WB cooperation would further develop. He also expressed assurance the WB Managing Director`s trip to Azerbaijan would be successful.
Okonjo-Iweala in turn said the visit gave her a chance to familiarize herself with Baku. She said the Azerbaijani capital deeply impressed her, describing it as "a very beautiful city".
Upon President Ilham Aliyev`s opinion regarding the cooperation with the World Bank, she said "I am very happy to hear you praise the cooperation between your country and our organization". She added the World Bank is also proud of being a partner of Azerbaijan.
