Georgian public budget deficit not to hit 2 percent by 2013

Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct.16 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/

Georgia's public budget deficit will not constitute more than two percent by 2013, the Georgian Finance Minister, Kakha Baindurashvili said at the parliamentary meeting.

The minister said that this forecast is in full accordance with the so-called Act of free economy, which laid down specific targets, which the government must achieve by 2012.

Baindurashvili stressed that the government and state officials during the crisis would have to tighten their belts. Despite the risks, according to the Minister, the Government hopes that the Georgian economy will continue to develop.

"We will leave the recession in the fourth quarter of this year and will continue to make steady progress in 2010," said Baindurashvili.
