First batch of vaccines for swine flu to be delivered to Azerbaijan in November

Azerbaijan was amongst the 90 countries to which the World Health Organization (WHO) donated 300 million doses of vaccine from the "swine flu" A/H1N1, the Ministry of Health said.

The first batch of vaccines will be delivered to the country in November, said the ministry.

According to recent data provided by the World Health Organization, about 415,000 infections of "swine flu" were identified in the world, and also 5,000 deaths from flu were recorded.  

A significant number of A/H1N1 virus was detected in the American continent, where 2.3 percent of the total number of infections was detected. In European countries 261 people or 0.4 percent of the infected 63,000 people died.

In Azerbaijan, in July were revealed two cases of the virus "swine flu" A/H1N1 from persons who arrived from France and England. Both infected fully recovered.
