Azerbaijani plant to launch production of cranes

Ganja automobile plant in Azerbaijan will assemble 650 tractors within the contract with Minsk tractor plant by late 2009, director of Ganja automobile plant Hanlar Fatiyev said on October 29.

"About 650 sets of tractors made in Belorussia will be produced by late 2009," Fatiyev said.

Fatiyev said that 25-ton-cranes are planned to be produced on the basis of MAZ cars soon.

The plant can produce up to 5,000 tractors annually for local market at existing areas upon marketing research.

At present, Ganja automobile plant assembles production of Minsk tractor plant for the domestic market.

The contract on assemble and sale of all lorries in Azerbaijan and tractors made by Minsk automobile and tractor plants was signed in Minsk in late November 2006.

Assembling is conducted at 15,000-square-meter territory.

Ganja is situated 265 kilometers south of Baku.
