Another swine flu patient discharged from hospital in Azerbaijan

Another swine flu patient recovered and was discharged today, the Azerbaijani Health Ministry reported.

"Only two swine flu patients are continuing treatment at the hospital," the ministry said.

All patients infected with the swine flu are being treated and in good health, the source added.

Yesterday two patients who were treated at the same institute were discharged.

The ministry has not reported any new cases of the swine flu today.

So far, Azerbaijan has reported 14 cases of swine flu.

All medical facilities belonging to the Azerbaijani Health Ministry have upped their security due to the swine flu. The ministry has given instructions to medical personnel around the country to take preventive measures in their institutions and check all persons registered at each local clinic. According to the ministry, active measures are taken in children's clinics, schools and kindergartens.

The WHO has donated 300 million doses of a vaccine against the A/H1N1 virus to 90 countries, including Azerbaijan. The first shipment will be delivered to the country in November. Vaccination will be carried out among people at risk group.
