In 2009, Sumgayit Employment Center registered 3,057 unemployed, the Sumgayit city executive Power reported.
Some 1,499 people were provided with job, 654 persons were granted the status of unemployed, 655 people were appointed for unemployment benefits, 437 were sent to the professional training and 104 were received public work.
In 2009, labor registry office has received proposals from 917 unemployed to get jobs, of which 759 were provided with temporary jobs
In October 2009, the Ministry held labor fair in Azerbaijan to provide people with job. Twenty public, 27 non-public enterprises and 241 individuals offered 2,651 vacancies.
Public enterprises offered 569 vacancies, non-public enterprises- 1,452, and individuals- 630, as a result of which 597 people were provided with adequate jobs.
