The Georgian government noted positive developments on the real estate market in January
In January, 2010, the total registration of real property increased by 32.2 percent compared to the same period of 2009.
Tbilisi City Administration issued 215 permits for construction which is 150 percent higher than the figure in January 2009.
Transactions on the sales of the second real estate market hit 17,000 units, which higher 40 percent than the index in January, 2009. Issuance of secured loans increased by 60 percent.
In January 2010, sales of motor vehicles rose by 16.4 percent compared to 2009 and by 26 percent compared to 2008.
In January 2010, registration of motor vehicles declined by 4 percent compared to 2009, but increased by 11.9 percent compared to the same period in 2008.
