Turkmenistan establishes state commission to support small and medium entrepreneurship

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb.17 / Trend , H. Hasanov /

Turkmenistan has established a state commission to support small and medium entrepreneurship.

A relevant decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The document approves regulations to support small and medium entrepreneurship. Documents correspond to Turkmen's Law on State Support of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship.

Measures have been taken to ensure the rapid socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, to increase the range and volume of products produced by small and medium-sized production enterprises, to increase their competitiveness in foreign markets and to create additional jobs.

It was reported in early February that the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, founded in 2007, will establish  its own business complex at its own expense in the city of Ashgabat. In accordance with long-term plans for socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, the share of non-state sector in GDP should grow from the current 40 to 70 percent by 2020.

"State support for private sector entrepreneurs envisages assignment of various tax-credit benefits, providing them with all kinds of organizational and technical assistance, improvement of existing laws and developing new laws to encourage investment activity of  the domestic and foreign companies," the Turkmen leader said at a meeting with businessmen recently.
