Azerbaijan imported over 63,400 vehicles in 20009, or 28.8 percent less than in 2008, the State Statistics Committee reported.
According to the committee, the total cost of imported passenger cars in 2009 was about $455.9 million or 29.8 percent less than in 2008.
Azerbaijan imported 6,150 trucks in 2009, or 45.6 percent less than in 2008.
The total cost of imported vehicles amounted to $105.45 million or 54.7 percent lower than the year before.
The republic also imported 1,030 buses in 2009, which was 30.9 percent lower than in 2008. Buses worth $51.3 million were imported in 2009. This figure is 16.1 percent less than in 2008.
