The State Concern Turkmenautoyollari (Turkmen highways) will perform as customer and contractor of the phased renovation and construction of new roads totaling 1,676 kilometers.
The corresponding order was signed by President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov.
The document requires completing construction in October, 2014.
The phased renovation and construction stipulates laying of artificial construction of the separation zone in accordance with the indicators of the first technical category, and the width of the carriageway in each direction, 12.25 m, coverage of their segments running through populated areas and strengthening of the sands in the road construction area.
The matter also deals with improvement (geotextile materials, road signs, direction signs, e- boards, metal fences, parking lots, playgrounds for recreation, road markings), including:
- the Archman-Turkmenbashi segment length 443 kilometers of the Ashgabat - Turkmenbashi highway;
- the Anau-Mary Segment (including bypass road through the Tedzhen town) length 364 kilometers of the Ashgabat - Mary highway;
- the Mary - Turkmenabat road (including bypass road through the towns of Mary and Turkmenabad) length 295 kilometers;
- the Turkmenabat-Farabi road length 28 kilometers;
- the Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz highway length 546 kilometers.
