Bank Melli Iran's Baku branch increases assets by 27 percent during year

Bank Melli Iran Baku branch's assets increased by 27.4 percent in 2010 and hit 53.59 million manat, the bank's balance sheet posted on the official press says.

Last year the bank received 20.285 million manat from credit organizations, which is 5 percent less than the corresponding indicator of the same period of 2010. Loans issued to customers hit 5.76 million manat decreasing by 28.6 percent.

The bank's total liabilities increased by 46.4 percent during the year and amounted to 39.8 million manat. Bank Melli Iran's liabilities before banks and state bodies as of late 2010 amounted to 35.3 million manat, before customers - 4.39 million manat, other liabilities - 82,580 manat.

The bank's aggregate capital during the year amounted to 13.59 million manat. The bank ended the year at a loss worth 1.05 million manat. The bank's incomes in 2009 hit 693,770 manat.

Bank Melli İran is the first national bank of Iran. It has branches not only in Iran, but also has 18 international branches in 11 countries. The Baku branch of Bank Melli Iran has been operating since 1993. The number of its employees has reached 43,000.

The official exchange rate is 0.7905 manat to $1 on May 17.
