Azerbaijan creates center for ship identification and tracking

The National Center for Long Range Ship Identification and Tracking will start its operation Azerbaijan in the coming days, Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration head Gudrat Gurbanov said during the 89th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The National Center for Long Range Ship Identification and Tracking will start its operation Azerbaijan in the coming days, Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration head Gudrat Gurbanov said during the 89th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

According to the information, Gurbanov met with the heads of maritime administrations of leading countries, during which he stressed the work undertaken in maritime transport in Azerbaijan.

The IMO session discussed ensuring navigation safety, environmental protection, improving search and rescue operations, and sea piracy, as well as work conducted in this sphere internationally.

The session was held in London on May 11-20 with the participation of 168 member countries and international organizations.
