The planes of the Tajik state-owned airline Tajik Air refuel in Kazakhstan because of expensiveness of aviation fuel in Tajikistan, Avesta.Tj reported with reference to the company.
According to the report, the planes of Tajik Air land in Kazakh Talas airport to refuel from May 2011.
"One ton of aviation fuel in Tajikistan costs about $ 2,000, while in Kazakhstan it costs $1,000," spokesman for Tajik Air Lola Kenjayeva said.
She added that if Tajik planes refuel in Dushanbe, the company will have to increase the cost of the tickets.
The experts consider the increased custom duties for oil products in Russia, providing about 90 percent of petroleum-based fuel in Tajikistan, as the main reason of fuel expensiveness in the country.
Another reason is high taxes and excises imposed to the oil products, delivered to Tajikistan, experts said.
