Kazakhstan is an important link between China and Europe, the Head of the Corporate Finance of BNP Paribas Asia-Pacific Branch Christian de Charnace said at the First Kazakhstan Equity Capital Raising & Investment Forum, which began on Friday in Hong Kong.

"Kazakhstan is a strategic hub of Asia. Historically, it was located on the Silk Road, linking trade between China and Europe. The country is an important link between Europe and China," Charnace said.

He said that Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world and shares its borders with Russia, China, and India.

"Until now, Kazakhstan has been an important link for Asian and Chinese investors with Europe," he added.

He said this forum aims to attract investment and to introduce local companies with Asian investors.

"This forum is an excellent opportunity for investment climate to Kazakhstan and attract capital to Asian markets," he said.

Kazakhstan's Consul General in Hong Kong Nurjan Abdymomonov said Kazakhstan will join the rank of safe and most economically advanced countries by 2030.

"In recent years, Kazakhstan's treasury has received $120 billion in foreign investments. We export our products of 100 species to 126 countries worldwide," Abdymomonov said.

He noted that Hong Kong is an important point in Kazakhstan's international relations.

"We have established an active collaboration with the Chinese government. The Kazakh companies' entrance into Hong Kong and other Asian stock markets is our best move," ​​ he stressed.

The forum is attended by government representatives and business circles in Kazakhstan and Hong Kong, the Singapore and Hong Kong Stock Exchanges, and Asian investors.
