Kazakhstan's inflation ratio stands at 6.5%

Inflation in Kazakhstan has made up 6.5 percent since Jan. 1, Economic Development and Trade Minister Kairat Kelimbetov told at today's Governmental meeting, Kazinform reported.
"Since the beginning of the year consumer and service prices have increased by 6.5 percent," Kelimbetov added. "This index is by 0.3 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year."
According to Kelimbetov, domestic price hikes follow world food and energy resources prices rise.
"Unless inflation rate exceeds 0.7 percent in November-December 2011, the overall index will not exceed 8 percent," Kelimbetov added.

According to Kelimbetov, it is important to prevent price hikes in the last months of the year to fulfill the forecast corridor of inflation

"The Ministry of Agriculture and local executive authorities should take effective measures to ensure price stability in the domestic market. First of all for socially important food products," Kelimbetov said.
