Kazakh National Marine Shipping Co. Kazmortransflot, owned by Kazakh National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas (KMG), will have large-capacity tankers in Georgian Batumi Port, on Black sea, KMG reported on Wednesday.
These tankers will promote Kazmortransflot's participation in the transportation of "big oil" in open sea.
The first two large-capacity tankers of Kazmortransflot will come to Batumi on Dec. 9.
Kazmortransflot was founded by the Kazakh government in 1998 to bolster the sea transport in the country and create a national merchant shipping company. The company specializes in delivery of different types of cargo, including oil and products, general cargo, containers, etc., construction, exploitation, repair of all types of vessels, as well as leasing of vessels.
The Batumi Sea Port is situated in the South-West part of the Black Sea. The territory of the port is 22.2 hectares. Number of berths is 11. Total area of the open storage territory is 15,656 m2. Since 2008 Batumi port is acquired by Kazakh KazMunaiGas.
KazMunaiGas is the Kazakh national operator for hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and transportation. The state owns 100 percent of the company's shares.
