Kazakhstan exported 4.1 million tons of new harvest grain in September to December 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported referring to Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.
"As much as 4.1 million tons of grain (including flour in grain equivalent) was exported in September to December, 2011," the ministry said.
Kazakhstan collected 30 million tons in bunker weight and 26 million tons of grain in net weight in 2011. This is a record grain harvest within years of independence. Eight million tons of the grain harvest will be used for domestic consumption. Export potential is estimated at 15 million tons.
