Agricultural product prices increase in Kazakhstan

The prices of agricultural products have increased by one percent in March 2012 compared to December 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Monday.

Crop production fell by 0.4 percent, and livestock products increased by 3 percent, the agency said.

Maize prices increase by one percent, rice - by 0.8 percent, buckwheat - by 0.4 percent, and wheat - by 0.2 percent, millet decreased by 2.8 percent, barley - by 1.7 percent, and oats - by 1.2 percent in January-March in Kazakhstan.

Onions increase by 1.3 percent, cabbage decrease by 11.1 percent, potatoes - by 5.7 percent, beet - 3.2 percent, carrots - by 0.4 percent, sunflower seeds - by 6 percent.

Prices of pork increase by 5.3 percent, sheep meat - by 4.6 percent, horses - by 3.5 percent, cattle - three percent, poultry - by 1.9 percent. Raw milk has risen in price by 3.6 percent, honey - three percent, eggs - by 1.5 percent, wool - by 1.1 percent.
