Points for storage of agricultural products may be created by the state in Azerbaijan, Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov told reporters on Saturday.
"It would be nice if storage points were created in the form of private property, but if employers do not display interest in it, these points will be created by the state," Abasov said.
He said the construction of such points is necessary for increasing production volumes and exports of agricultural products.
Creating of 34 up-to-date cooling and storage facilities, 19 warehouses for grain storage was funded through the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support over 3 years.
In 2015-2016 Azerbaijan expects significantly increase in export-oriented agricultural production. Accordingly, the government aims to create an appropriate infrastructure, seek sale markets to export agricultural products to further develop the agricultural sector.
