Tbilisi hosts Georgian-Chinese business forum

Georgian businessmen are given the opportunity to participate in the international 'China-Eurasia' exhibition, which opens in Urumqi on Sept.1. A delegation from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is on a visit to Tbilisi to promote the exhibition and meetings with Georgian businessmen.

About 100 entrepreneurs attended the introductory business forum held on Wednesday.

"Today's information meeting is devoted to the 'China-Eurasia' international exhibition. We want to tell Georgian businessmen and companies that they have the opportunity to attend it, to establish contacts with potential partners and deepen cooperation with Chinese companies," delegation member Su Guanbin said.

According to the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Georgia Kakha Baindurashvili, the Chinese market is of great importance for Georgian products and all efforts should be taken to enter it.

For its part, China's ambassador to Georgia Chen Chyanfu said that trade and economic relations between Georgia and China should be expanded which can be achieved through bilateral meetings. A Chinese delegation is on a visit to Georgia with this purpose in mind.

"The Chinese delegation arrived in Georgia to reaffirm the importance of the Georgian-Chinese economic relations and through this exhibition will raise interest in China," the Ambassador said.
