Serbia seeks to bring economic relations with Azerbaijan to the level of political dialogue, Serbian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zoran Vayovich told reporters during an Azerbaijani-Serbian business forum held in Baku on Wednesday.
"Economic relations between the two countries are not as strong as the political, so we carry out such activities," Vayovich said.
Up to 15 Serbian companies, which arrived in Baku to participate in the International Exhibition "Food Industry" Worldfood Azerbaijan-2012 are participating in the business- forum.
Vayovich said agriculture, agribusiness, trade, construction, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals and other industries are promising directions for development of relations between the two countries.
"Despite the fact that indicators of economic relations between the two countries are small, there is great potential for cooperation," Vayovich said.
President of Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO) Adil Mammadov spoke about the social and economic achievements of Azerbaijan, and informed the participants about the investment opportunities and business environment existing in the region.
