Uzbekistan, Tashkent, May 25 / Trend D. Azizov /
The Perm petroleum engineering company will produce and deliver about 1,000 locks to the main gold and uranium producer in Uzbekistan -- the Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine -- to connect the drill pipes by late August 2012, a statement said today.
The locks will be used in extraction using underground leaching. This technology allows eliminating sedimentation and disturbance of the earth's surface.
The locks are used to connect drill pipes into columns.
The Perm company won a tender announced by the Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine in late 2011.
The total contract amount is $0.5 million.
The company has been manufacturing products for the oil companies, chemical, nuclear and aviation industries since 1993. The cooperation between Perm petroleum engineering company and Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine began in 2009.
Earlier, Perm petroleum engineering company manufactured drill pipes for Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine.
According to the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources, the proven and estimated uranium reserves have hit 185,800 tons.
Uzbekistan does not consume uranium products. All of the produced uranium is exported.
