Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that there is currently no obstacle in the way of expanding barter trade exchanges with different countries, particularly Pakistan, FNA reported.
President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting special envoy of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Tehran on Sunday.
"Iran and Pakistan are two big neighborly countries with vast potentials for cooperation," the president said.
Referring to the approximate value of 80 billion dollars of annual import of goods from Pakistan by Iran, President Ahmadinejad noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran prefers to import goods as much as possible from Pakistan in order to benefit the Pakistani brothers.
The president noted that IR Iran is also ready to export energy and electricity to Pakistan.
Pakistan's special envoy for his part said that Pakistan's policy of cooperation with Iran is based on enhancement of ties and cooperation with Iran.
He noted that Pakistan prioritizes expansion of ties with Iran and it is always thankful of Iran's assistance for its progress and development.
