Islamic Republic of Iran's Ambassador in Tbilisi Majid Saber conferred with Georgia's Minister for Environment Protection George Khachidze and discussed ways for expansion of cooperation between Iran and Georgia in environmental issues, IRNA reported.
The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in environmental issues, exchange of visits by Iranian and Georgian experts, as well as holding a meeting on environmental issues in September in Tbilisi.
The Iranian envoy, Majid Saber, called for expansion of bilateral cooperation in different environmental issues.
He noted that Iran has potentials in the field of environment protection.
Georgia's Minister for Environment Protection George Khachidze, for his part, said that his country is ready for enhancement of cooperation in the field of environment protection with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He pointed out that the cooperation between Georgia and Iran in different areas is improving.
