Turkish company presents project to develop Turkmen power industry

The Turkish Cotam Enterprises held the presentation of several major projects in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said on Monday.

A central theme of discussion was the construction of the Ashgabat-Balkanabat-Turkmenbashi power transmission line with a voltage of 500 kV. The total project length is 620 kilometers.

The projects of construction of gas turbine power plants in the districts of the Ahal Province - the central province of the country, were also considered.

In line with the strategy of development of the industry, by 2030 the level of power production in Turkmenistan is expected to reach 35.5 billion kilowatt hours.

The Turkish company also prepared a project of constructionof shipyard and its general plan, under which it is planned to construct cargo, container and passenger terminals.
The berth will take the coastal strip of 450 meters and will go to sea for 300 meters. Shipyard will annually launch six ships from the stocks.

Turkmenistan has actively taken up the formation of its own tanker fleet, vessels are purchased in Russia and the Baltics.
