Kazakhstan intends to establish a joint venture for the production of titanium slag in Vietnam, Ak Orda said on Monday.
According to information received, Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium Magnesium Plant offered to consider the possibility in Vietnam of creating a joint venture to produce titanium slag of high quality from raw materials of Vietnamese origin.
On Monday, a number of agreements were signed in the Ak Orda after talks between Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. One of these is the opening before the end of this year of direct flights on the Almaty - Ho Chi Minh City route three times a week.
Also, an agreement was signed between the national banks of the two countries and the Ministries of Agriculture.
In 2011, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Vietnam grew by 55 per cent to more than $59 million. In 2010, it amounted to more than $38 million. Vietnam imports asbestos, flat-rolled products of iron, steel and various types of equipment from Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan imports from Vietnam mobile devices, shoes, nuts, pasta, fish, medicines, cosmetics.
