Iran and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding during the 14th joint economic committee meeting in Tehran on Monday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al-Sunaidy signed the MOU, the Fars news agency reported.
The two sides underlined the need to expand cooperation in technical and engineering, vocational, and environmental fields.
They also explored ways to boost bilateral ties in the fields of agriculture and fishery, tourism, culture and education, as well as combat smuggling of goods and passengers.
On September 1, the first direct flight between Muscat and Tehran was carried out.
