Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept.18 /Trend/
Azerbaijan is one of the most promising countries in its potential for the long term growth of its tourism market. This has been said in the report of the HVS Company on 'Hotel Industry of Russia, CIS and Georgia: Tendencies and perspectives'. HVS is one of the leading consulting companies in the field of hotel and restaurant industry, timeshare, casino and entertainment industry.
On September 18-19 HVS holds the first hotel investment conference among CIS countries and Georgia (iCON), dedicated to the regional development of the hotel sector and investment climate, as well as other urgent industry issues.
During the analysis of tourism improvement potential for each country of the region, we can see that though the forecasts for 2012 happen to be optimistic, the long term growth in the region is limited. Azerbaijan is the leader not only among CIS countries, but also undoubtedly one of the most promising in the world, when it comes to the long term potential of the market was noted in the report.
According to the report, the general contribution to the gross domestic product of CIS countries amounts to five to eight per cent, while the mean value amounts to 14 per cent.
Most of the CIS country economics depend to a considerable degree on the oil and manufacturing industries which leads to low contributions to the field of tourism in the GDP in comparison to the other countries of the world. On the other hand, the general contribution to GDP offers a more positive view. Such common tendencies support the fact that while the tourism industry develops in the CIS countries, its contribution to the economics of each separate country remains inconsiderably low was the analysis of the report.
The purchasing power of tourists happens to be one of the significant aspects, requiring consideration.
The most part of the income from tourism in Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is linked with the internal flows of passengers (65 to 77 per cent), while in Armenia which has the smallest absolute number of international passengers, arriving to the country, 75 per cent of income in tourism field falls to the share of foreign visitors.
In Ukraine it's almost 50-50: 47 per cent of internal income and 53 per cent of foreign income'-, report says.
ICON is going to unite international investors and operators, as well as authoritative regional experts and representatives of governments in order to discuss perspectives and problems of hotel industry in CIS and will present the delegates an excellent platform for exchange of opinions, knowledge and development strategies of tourism and hotel sectors in the region.
For years the HVS company, basing on research and analysis, has been successfully presenting solution of problems, which came across the welcoming industry in the whole world, and defines the ways of successful development of CIS countries' hotel industry.
