Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 17 /Trend S.Isayev/
Islamic Republic's ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Manouchehr Moradi and Kyrgyzstan's transport minister Kalykbek Sultanov discussed the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran railroad, the press service of Kyrgyzstan's transport and communication ministry reported.
The ministry said Kyrgyzstan will look into the decision of constructing the rail road.
Reportedly, Iran's ambassador is interested in priority projects of the same nature, namely in construction of "Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran" and "China-Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan" rail roads, and other railways.
The ministry's press service said Iran's ambassador asked the Kyrgyz side to support Iran's wish to enter the CIS railway board.
Entering this organization as a full member will allow Iran's railways to enter Russian territory and other CIS countries in the future.
Manouchehr Moradi reminded that Tehran will be hosting the first meeting of the ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) transport ministers on November 11-13.
In July, Moradi said that Iran is ready to finance Kyrgyzstan's part of the Iran-Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railroad project.
