A fire occurred at one of the plants belonging to the Atyrau refinery in Kazakhstan, spokesperson for the enterprise Yelena Isenova told Trend.
"On January 29, 2013, at 12:00, depressurisation of equipment in the hot pump with subsequent ignition occurred at the facility of primary oil refining AT-2 at the Atyrau refinery operating under normal conditions," Isenova said.
According to her, operation of the AT-2 equipment was abnormally terminated according to the emergency response plan.
"No one was injured. The remaining process units of the plant are operating normally," Isenova said.
According to her, reception of oil and shipment of petroleum products at the factory wasn't cancelled.
"The cause of the fire and repairs required will be determined by the Commission after complete cooling of the equipment," Isenova said.
