The Azerbaijani government does not expect serious consequences of debris flows for the next two years, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov told media today.

"Today, the state focuses on the issue of the water level in the Mingachevir reservoir," he said. "Special rules have been adopted to regulate the water level in the reservoir."

Earlier, 300 cubic meters of water per second was directed to the reservoir, but now it is 650.

"However, despite this there are no consequences," he said. "This is the result of measures to regulate the water level. Of course, one cannot give any guarantees, but we do not expect any serious consequences from debris flows for the next two years."
