The intensification of work on the restoration of Aslandyuz-Goradiz border checkpoint will promote the enhancement of trade between Azerbaijan and Iran, Head of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev said at a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mohsun Pakayin on Friday.
According to Aliyev, the bilateral relations are developing in all spheres. Cooperation in the field of customs is also at a high level.
The ambassador said that Iran has a positive attitude to the proposal for the restoration of the checkpoint and hopes that it will start functioning again in a few days.
Pakayin stressed the need for working meetings between the officera of border customs checkpoints of both countries, solution of the problems in the field of customs in place, as well as conducting joint trainings for studying of the customs legislations of the two countries.
The Ambassador conveyed to Aliyev an official invitation of the Head of Iranian Customs Administration Abbas Memarnejad to visit Iran and expressed the hope that the visit will take place in the nearest future.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state of the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations, existing opportunities and prospects for their development.
