The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, during its plenary session, passed the law "On ensuring the uniformity of measurements" in its third reading.
The new law specifies areas of state regulation in the field of meteorology as well as areas where there is not a need for such a regulation.
The adoption of such a law is important for Azerbaijan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The current law on the matter was adopted in Azerbaijan in 2000 and regulates the development, manufacturing, inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, sales, import and export of measurement means.
