The American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) hosted its third Tax Conference jointly with Ministry of Taxes in Sharg Ballroom of JW Marriott Hotel Baku. National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the U.S. Embassy and AmCham, officials of the Ministry of Taxes and media representatives attended the event.
The main purpose of the conference was to establish and increase tax partnership between government and private sector by changing nature of the tax culture, investigating reasons of tax payer's incompliance and impact of accounting practices on tax administration, learning about practical aspects of ruling in Azerbaijan and highlighting the importance of raising a responsible tax payer.
"Tax Ministry of Azerbaijan aims to increase transparency between private sector and government by introducing online ways of taxation processes suiting international standards. Certainly transparency is the main goal of this procedure but it also brings convenience, ease and saves time of the tax payers"- said Natig Amirov, First Deputy Minister of Taxes. The outcome of the new system implementation will be association of tax liabilities with automation procedures, the integration of government agencies and other relevant bodies, the forecasting and analysis and the use of a single data base as said by Samira Musayeva. The changes and concessions of tax legislation, in Azerbaijan, organization and conduct of tax audits, the explanations of tax receipts being key components of budget revenues were also introduced to the conference members.
