The members of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau in Azerbaijan collected around 39.339 million manat on about 498,884 agreements on four types of insurance regulated by the Bureau in the first six months of 2013, the official website of the Bureau reported on Monday. .
The Compulsory Insurance Bureau has been established within the law on compulsory types of insurance. This law began to be used by the insurance companies on December 16, 2011. The law regulates the compulsory liability insurance of vehicle owners, compulsory insurance of real estate, compulsory liability insurance for the operation of real estate and the compulsory insurance of passengers.
The participants of Compulsory Insurance Bureau are 12 companies: Paşa Sığorta, Atəşgah Sığorta Şirkəti, Standard Insurance Sığorta Şirkəti, AtaSığorta, Xalq Sığorta, AXA MBASK Sığorta Şirkəti, AZSIĞORTA, Alfa Sığorta, "Azərsığorta" State commercial insurance company, Meqa Sığorta, İpək Yolu Sığorta and Azərbaycan Sənaye Sığorta.
From January to June, the premiums on compulsory liability insurance of vehicle owners amounted to 32.4 million manat on 439,200 agreements, around 6.696 million manat (57,213 agreements) - on real estate insurance, around 175,492 manat (around 2,212 agreements) - on compulsory liability insurance for the operation of real estate and about 68,060 manat ( 259 agreements) - on insurance of passengers.
"The number of agreements on compulsory liability insurance of vehicle owners has decreased by 5 percent and the volume of insurance charges has decreased by 7 percent compared to the same period of 2012," the bureau reported.
The number of agreements on property insurance has increased by 21 percent during the year, the volume of insurance premiums - by 56 percent, agreements on liability insurance for the operation of real estate - by 12 percent and the volume of insurance premiums - by 22 percent, agreements on passengers' insurance - by 3.8 times and the volume of insurance premiums - by 4.46 times.
