The National Accreditation Service under Azerbaijan's State Committee for Standardisation, Meteorology and Patents submitted documents to the European Accreditation Organisation for obtaining membership to this body, principal consultant of the State Accreditation Service Javanshir Huseynov told journalists on Friday.

According to him this will simplify the exports of Azerbaijani products to European markets. Accession of the State Accreditation Service to this organisation is expected by the end of the year.

"Food product producers will be able to carry out their testing in Azerbaijan, to submit protocol on the conducting of monitoring to enable them to get a certificate. With this certificate, producer will get opportunity to export his products to any European country without hindrance," Huseynov said.

According to him, the State Accreditation Service was adopted to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation as an observer in November last year.

To date, nearly 300 laboratories were accredited in Azerbaijan. These contain laboratories of the food industry, light and heavy industry, machine building, metallurgy, construction and other fields.
