An irreversible process of economic growth has started in Georgia's economy, Georgia's Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri told journalists on Monday.
"I want to assure everyone that an irreversible process of growth has started in the country's economy," the Minister said.
Regarding economic indicators, the Minister said that in 2013, the country's economic growth was 1.7 percent. Khaduri expressed hope that this figure will be even higher in autumn.
"According to preliminary data, in July, economic growth was 0.6 percent. The figures for June and May, which initially were negative, have also been specified. It turns out that in May there was an increase of 0.2 percent. In June the negative growth was not higher than 0.8 percent, and 0.6 percent," the Minister said.
According to him, the taxes in the amount of 31.3 million laris ($1=1.66 lari) which were collected during seven months of 2013 exceeded the figures for same period of 2012.
