The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry announced results of operations of the top ten insurance companies for January-August 2013. Over 74 percent of the total insurance premiums accounted for them.
Some 28 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operated in Azerbaijan during that period.

SK Pasa Sıgorta led the ranking on insurance premiums as in the previous month, which accounted for 12.36 percent of premiums collected by all companies in January-August.
AzSığorta (10.78 percent of all collections of the market) and Azerbaijan Republic State Insurance Commerce Company "Azərsığorta" (10.21 percent) ranked the second and third respectively.
In August, the TOP-10 included two companies that have the right to engage in life insurance in Azerbaijan - Atəşgah Həyat and Paşa Həyat. Azerbaijan today has three life insurance companies that are licensed to provide services of this kind - Atəşgah Həyat, Qala Həyat and Paşa Həyat.
The total premiums amounted to 265.71 million manat in January-August 2013 (16.1 percent-increase per year) and claims in this period hit 77.85 million manat (32.22 -percent increase).
The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry's report for January to August did not include the figures of the only reinsurance company Az RE.
