Gas sold to the customers in Turkey is below the import cost, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, Anadolu agency reported on Thursday.
According to the minister, Turkey doesn't purchase gas at a low price, but the opportunities for customers are taken into account during the sale.
He also stressed that some 45.5 billion cubic meters of gas was consumed in Turkey in 2012.
Some 13.95 billion cubic meters of gas was sold in Turkey's domestic market in January-April 2013, compared to nearly 16.02 billion cubic meters of gas in the same period of last year.
