The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to extend preferences for the import of aircraft to Kazakhstan and Belarus airlines up to 2017 and to July 2019, depending on the aircraft type and configuration, the press service of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport and Communications reported.
'Kazakh aviation companies' demands in this segment forecasted till 2020 are over 50. The amount of customs duty which this decision covers is 19 per cent of the aircraft's cost. Savings from this decision will enable domestic aviation companies to continue their programme of upgrading their fleets with modern aircraft without increasing prices for airline tickets due to customs duties on import of new aircraft', the statement said.
