Some 260 industrial and agricultural enterprises, as well as those operating in the trade and services sector were commissioned in the Azerbaijani regions in January-September 2013, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economic Development told Trend on Friday.

Currently, the construction of 483 enterprises continues.

"As a result, the number of entrepreneurs operating in the country's regions increased by 14.4 per cent during the reported period and tax revenues increased by 15.6 per cent," the Ministry said.

The ministry said the regions account for 70 per cent of preferential state funding allocated to the entrepreneurs in the form of loans through the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support (NFES).

"Around 3527 entrepreneurs received over 245 million manat worth of loans which in turn created over 10,200 workplaces. Baku accounts for 30 per cent of the total volume of preferential financing. Some 67 per cent of the total number of given loans were sent to the agrarian sector and 33 per cent to the industrial and processing sector," the Ministry of Economic Development said.

It is planned to increase the volume of preferential financing of entrepreneurs to 275 million manat by the end of 2013. That will be fulfilled thanks to additional loans of 30 million manat through the repayment of funds to the NFES.

The official exchange rate on October 14 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
