By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: Kazakhstan has increased grain and flour export in grain equivalent this marketing year, Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture Asylzhan Mamytbekov said on Nov.12 at the country's governmental meeting.

"A tendency towards increase is observed in Kazakhstan's grain export this season. Some 2.8 million tons of grain, including flour in grain equivalent was exported since July 1," the minister said.

According to the minister, the volumes of shipped grain and flour amounted to 1.8 million tons with an increase of 21 percent from September 1, 2013 compared to the same period of the previous marketing season. Around one million tons of grain and flour was shipped for export in October, which exceeds the figure of September 2012 and October 2012 by 62 percent and 44 percent respectively. .

"Flour export has increased by 65 percent compared to September," Mamytbekov said.

According to the data from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 1, 2013, there is 12.9 million tons of grain, including food grain - 11.1 million tons, feed grain - 1.1 million tons, seed grain- 0.7 million tons, some 2.1 million tons of which is in "Food Corporation", including the grain of state resources - 0.5 million tons and grain of commercial resources - 1.6 million tons.
