Pakistan is interested in purchasing Turkish HÜRKUŞ training aircraft, Pakistan's Minister of the Defence Industry, Rana Tanveer Hossain said, the Turkish Sabah newspaper reported on Dec.10.

It is expected that details of the training aircraft purchase will be discussed during the official visit of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan on Dec.23, 2013, according to the minister.

The first Turkish training aircraft HÜRKUŞ will be transferred to the Turkish Air Forces in 2017.

Executive Committee of Turkey's Defence Industry made a decision to start the serial production of the first national training aircraft HÜRKUŞ.

Some 15 HÜRKUŞ aircraft will be produced in the first stage according to data received from the Turkish Air Force. The first plane was successfully tested on August 29. Around 50 engineers and more than 350 professionals worked on the plane's design.

The HÜRKUŞ aircraft was created by the Turkish Research Centre for Aerospace Technologies (TUSAŞ).

The centre also produces parts for F-16 fighters, the A380 passenger airbus and A400M military Airbus. TUSAŞ has also produced diffusers for the A350 Airbus since 2012.
