Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.11
By Elena Kosolapova - Trend:

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan amounted to $209.325 million in nine months of 2013, according to the press release of Kazakhstan's embassy in Baku.

This volume doesn't correspond to the potential of the two countries and it is necessary to increase it, Kazakh ambassador to Azerbaijan Amangeldi Zhumabaev said.

The main products exported from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan are mineral resources (oil and gas), chemical raw materials, grain, barley, tobacco products, rolled carbon steel and electrical equipment.

Oil products made of bituminous materials, ethylene polymers, and components for machinery and mechanisms are imported to Kazakhstan.
A number of mutual visits are expected in 2014.

There will be held consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2014. Chairman of the Majilis of Kazakhstan's parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin will visit Azerbaijan in spring 2014. It is expected that the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (parliament) Ogtay Asadov will visit Kazakhstan in 2014.

There will also be held a business forum next year.
